Kasim assists Attorney Bousfiha prepare and file affirmative asylum applications. A majority of Kasim’s time is spent calling clients to learn more about their journey to identify information relevant to their case needs. Kasim loves talking with clients, and he takes care to make clients feel comfortable and supported when sharing their stories.
Kasim is a rising second year law student at the University of Wisconsin Law School. At UW Law, Kasim is on the Mock Trial Team, is a staff member at the Wisconsin Innocence Project, and is the President of the Wisconsin International Law Society. This summer, Kasim is also working as a Judicial Intern for Judge Kristy Yang in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Kasim has a passion for immigration law which stems from his background. Kasim’s father immigrated from Pakistan to the United States in the 90s, and Kasim’s grandfather immigrated from India to Pakistan during the Partition of India and Pakistan in 1947. Kasim served as an Immigration Legal Intern for the International Rescue Committee in 2022 where he found his passion for working with refugees and asylees.
